2019-20 Season Auditions: OCTOBER 4 & 5, 2019
The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra is a professional, per-service orchestra which performs five pairs of Masterworks concerts, daytime Young People's Concerts, a summer outdoor concert, and occasional other programs.
Compensation is based on a per-service rate. Limited assistance with driving costs is available to musicians from outside the immediate area, as is local housing in private homes. Board is not provided. Musicians who are considering traveling to audition and play with the FMSO should write to the Personnel Manager with questions, to determine the practicality of this commitment.
All candidates must be US citizens, or be otherwise eligible for employment in the United States.

Viola — 5
Cello — 1
Bass — 1
2nd Flute: please prepare the flute-piccolo excerpts below.
3rd Flute/Piccolo: please prepare the flute-piccolo excerpts below.
PRINCIPAL CELLO: The date of these auditions is to be determined.
AUXILIARIES AND SUBSTITUTES are sought for all instruments, particularly for strings.
General Audition Repertoire:
Unless a specific solo is stated in the appropriate repertoire list below, each candidate should prepare a two-minute solo demonstrating lyrical and technical abilities, in addition to the excerpts.
Percussionists have no solo requirement, but will be expected to sightread.
