2017 Thoreson Steffes Young Artists Solo Competition set for Saturday, January 7
This competition is open to senior high instrumentalists (students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades) including pianists, and will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 (storm date January 14), at North Dakota State University - Reineke Fine Arts Center in Fargo, ND starting at 9:00 a.m. The finals will begin at l:00 p.m. and are open to the public.
If you are interested in applying to be a contestant, please download the guidelines and application and mail it to the FM Symphony office at 808 3rd Avenue South Suite #300 in Fargo, or it may be dropped off in person weekdays between the hours of 9 and 5. Don’t forget to include the $25.00 competition fee. Applications must be received in the FM Symphony office by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016.
Contestants should select a piece from the approved repertory list linked here. Any requests for substitutions to the repertory must be approved by the FMSO Executive Director, Linda Boyd, by November 1, 2016 by calling 701-478-3676.
