FREE events with live music, hors d'oeuvres, wine tasting, discounted concert tickets
and prize drawings for people in their 20s and 30s
URBAN OVERTURE is the name of an FMSO program for young adults in their 20s and 30s who are interested in exploring a new concert experience and enjoying informal networking with their peers.
WHAT IS URBAN OVERTURE ABOUT?
Each Wednesday prior to a Masterworks symphony concert, the symphony hosts an "Urban Overture Party" at The Radisson Downtown at 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. for an informal gathering to learn more about the weekend's concert offering.
Music Director CHRISTOPHER ZIMMERMAN talks a bit about the music featured in the upcoming symphony concert, our GUEST SOLOISTS give a short performance, and Concermaster (first chair violinist) BENJAMIN SUNG is often the musical host for each of these events. If a guest artist is not available, MUSICIANS from the orchestra perform for the Urban Overture attendees.
Each event includes a brief acknowledgment of the sponsors, a drawing for free concert tickets, and an explanation of how to purchase UO discounted tickets online - all of this in an informal, cocktail party-style atmosphere.
