2017 Auditions - October 6 & 7, 2017

The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra is a professional, per-service orchestra which performs five pairs of Masterworks concerts, daytime Young People's Concerts, a summer outdoor concert, and occasional other programs. Compensation is based on a per-service rate, and does not include housing or board, arrangements for which are the responsibility of the musician concerned. All applicants are required to demonstrate either U.S. citizenship or a legal eligibility to accept employment with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra. 

Candidates must be US citizens, or be otherwise eligible for employment in the United States.

Violin 1: 1 position
Violin 2: 2 positions
Viola: 1 position
Bass: 4 positions

We seek qualified substitutes and auxiliaries at all times, for all positions. 

 

General Audition Repertoire:

Unless a specific solo is stated in the appropriate repertoire list below, each candidate should prepare a two-minute solo demonstrating lyrical and technical abilities, in addition to the excerpts.

Percussionists have no solo requirement, but will be expected to sightread.
