FMSO Roster Positions

Auditions for open roster positions and for substitutes and auxiliary players are held annually in the fall, at the beginning of the rehearsal series for the opening concert of the season. Principal position openings are usually auditioned in the spring.

2010 FALL AUDITIONS have been set for Friday, October 8, 4:30-8:30; and Saturday, October 9, 8:30-4:00.

OPEN ROSTER POSITIONS:

Three section Violins

One section Viola

Cello: Two temporary, one-season cello positions are open. This will be for a single season, to fill temporary vacancies due to permanent members' leaves of absence.

Second Oboe (Interim, for one season only)

Second Bassoon

Substitute and Auxiliary positions: We seek qualified players for all sections, with the exception of percussion, for our substitute and auxiliary lists. Occasional openings do occur during the course of each season.

Any further openings will be announced no later than one month before the audition date.

PRINCIPAL OBOE: The Symphony seeks a highly qualified principal oboist. Auditions will be held in April, 2011.

PRINCIPAL CELLO: The Symphony seeks a highly qualified principal cellist. Auditions will be  held in April, 2011.

Candidates must be US citizens, or be otherwise eligible for employment in the United States.
